Why Should I Sell Your Wheat?

I am starting a blog where I will comment/rant on my soapbox about Canada, Canadian politics, Canada's place in the world, or whatever happens to be on my mind.

It will be a place where I can formulate and experiment with ideas, and throw stuff out there into the ether...accumulate notes on my thinking for the book on Canada that I will probably never write.

The title is based on the thesis, that for better or for worse, we all live in Trudeau's Canada. We are all "children of Trudeau" in affirmation or in rejection of him.

I was born on a farm in north of Edmonton. "Why should I sell your wheat?" is Trudeau's challenge to Western Canadians, his challenge to me, to finish what (I would argue) that he was incapable of, bring the West into the bosom of the federation, as he had brought Quebec (albeit imperfectly).

And so it begins...
